Combos Of The Week: Week 23 Virtual Padwork Online Boxing Series

Welcome to the twenty-third instalment of Combos Of The Week. This series is a complete recap of the Virtual Padwork library I built in 2023.

If you are looking for a structured way to learn about online boxing, this series will serve as a reference guide. Instead of hunting through a social media feed, you can find the technical sequences right here, grouped by week, to study in your own time.

Combo 155: 152 Roll 252

Stance: Southpaw

This sequence focuses on fighting "up the middle." For the southpaw, the 1-5-2 (Jab, Lead Uppercut, Cross) splits the opponent's guard. By rolling left after the initial flurry, you reset your power to fire a second heavy 2-5-2 combination.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Right Uppercut

  • Cross

  • Roll Left

  • Cross

  • Right Uppercut

  • Cross

Combo 156: Block 3 Catch 2 Jab

Stance: Orthodox

A combination that relies on an unexpected counter. You absorb a lead hook on the block and return your own, then immediately transition into catching a straight shot to counter with a crisp cross-jab.

Combo Sequence:

  • Left Block

  • Left Hook

  • Right Catch

  • Cross

  • Jab

Combo 157: Slip Slip Block Block Pull 232

Stance: Southpaw

A defensive combo. This drill cycles through slips and blocks to build "eyes" under pressure. It concludes with a "Pull" to evade the final shot of an opponent's flurry, leaving them open for a sharp 2-3-2 counter-attack.

Combo Sequence:

  • Slip Left

  • Slip Right

  • Block Left

  • Block Right

  • Lean Back

  • Cross

  • Right Hook

  • Cross

Combo 158: Block 3 Slip 32 Roll

Stance: Orthodox

This sequence focuses on staying offensive while moving the head in tight spaces. After blocking and countering with a hook, you slip to find a new angle for a hook-cross, finishing with a roll to the right to exit the pocket safely.

Combo Sequence:

  • Left Block

  • Left Hook

  • Slip Left

  • Left Hook

  • Cross

  • Roll Right

Combo 159: 123 Body 32

Stance: Southpaw

A high-low transition drill. After a 1-2-3 entry, you roll right to dig a heavy rear hook into the body. You then immediately come back upstairs with another lead hook and a straight cross.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Cross

  • Right Hook

  • Roll Right (Low Left Hook)

  • Right Hook

  • Cross

Combo 160: Jab Slip Body 232

Stance: Orthodox

This drill uses the slip to bridge the gap. By jabbing and then slipping to the left, you load your weight to fire a low lead hook to the body while rolling, followed immediately by a rapid 2-3-2 upstairs to finish.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Slip Left

  • Low Left Hook

  • Cross

  • Left Hook

  • Cross

Combo 161: Slip 563 Roll 32 Step

Stance: Southpaw

An explosive inside-fighting combination. You slip to the outside to fire a three-punch flurry (Uppercuts and Hook), roll to the right to reset your angle, and finish with a hook-cross before stepping back to safety.

Combo Sequence:

  • Slip Right

  • Right Uppercut

  • Left Uppercut

  • Right Hook

  • Roll Right

  • Right Hook

  • Cross

  • Step Back

Closing Thoughts

This project began as a 365-day commitment to creating a free, dependable resource for boxing enthusiasts worldwide. By stripping away spoken instruction and focusing on the raw mechanics of the combinations, these sequences are designed to be a universal language. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced boxer, these archives stand as a testament to the discipline of the craft—a library of inspiration that remains accessible to anyone with a passion for boxing.
