Combos Of The Week: Week 27 Virtual Padwork Online Boxing Series

Welcome to the twenty-seventh instalment of Combos Of The Week. This series is a complete recap of the Virtual Padwork library I built in 2023.

If you are looking for a structured way to learn about online boxing, this series will serve as a reference guide. Instead of hunting through a social media feed, you can find the technical sequences right here, grouped by week, to study in your own time.

Combo 183: 532 Slip Slip 532

Stance: Southpaw

This high-volume drill focuses on the lead-hand counter-attack. For the southpaw, the "5-3-2" sequence (Lead Uppercut, Lead Hook, Cross) is a versatile weapon. Integrating double slips between the repetitions ensures you remain defensively responsible while maintaining a high work rate.

Combo Sequence:

  • Low Right Hook / Uppercut

  • Right Hook

  • Cross

  • Slip Left

  • Slip Right

  • Low Right Hook / Uppercut

  • Right Hook

  • Cross

Combo 184: 1232 Reverse

Stance: Orthodox

A coordination and rhythm drill. This sequence requires you to fire a standard 1-2-3-2 and then immediately reverse the order. It is designed to build "hand-brain" connectivity, ensuring you can fire any shot from any position without hesitation.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Cross

  • Left Hook

  • Cross

  • Cross

  • Left Hook

  • Cross

  • Jab

Combo 185: 12 Step 63 Step 232

Stance: Southpaw

A distance-trap sequence. You use a step back to pull the opponent onto a long rear uppercut and lead hook. After a second tactical step back, you unload a finishing 2-3-2 combination to catch them as they continue to move forward.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Cross

  • Step Back

  • Left Uppercut

  • Right Hook

  • Step Back

  • Cross

  • Right Hook

  • Cross

Combo 186: Jab Cross Slip Slip Loop

Stance: Orthodox

The ultimate "bread and butter" rhythm drill. By looping the 1-2 followed by a double slip, you develop the muscle memory to move your head instinctively every time you finish your straight punches.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Cross

  • Slip Right

  • Slip Left

  • (Repeat Loop 3x)

Combo 187: 5 Roll 563 Roll

Stance: Southpaw

An inside fighting drill designed for the southpaw stance. This focuses on the lead uppercut and rolling to the outside (right). It builds the ability to stay low and compact while transitioning between defensive rolls and explosive short-range power shots.

Combo Sequence:

  • Right Uppercut

  • Roll Right

  • Right Uppercut

  • Left Uppercut

  • Right Hook

  • Roll Right

Combo 188: Catch Catch Hook Roll Roll

Stance: Orthodox

This drill teaches you to counter off of defensive catches. After catching a 1-2, you immediately fire a lead hook and enter a double roll to exit the pocket, ensuring you are never a stationary target after you stop punching.

Combo Sequence:

  • Right Catch

  • Left Catch

  • Left Hook

  • Roll Left

  • Roll Right

Combo 189: Jab Control Cross Roll

Stance: Southpaw

A tactical southpaw sequence. After the jab, you use your lead hand for "Head Control" to disrupt the opponent's posture and measure the range for a heavy straight left. The final roll ensures you exit the line of fire immediately after the power shot.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Head Control

  • Cross

  • Roll Left

Closing Thoughts

This project began as a 365-day commitment to creating a free, dependable resource for boxing enthusiasts worldwide. By stripping away spoken instruction and focusing on the raw mechanics of the combinations, these sequences are designed to be a universal language. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced boxer, these archives stand as a testament to the discipline of the craft—a library of inspiration that remains accessible to anyone with a passion for boxing.
