Combos Of The Week: Week 1 Virtual Padwork Online Boxing Series
Welcome to the first instalment of Combos Of The Week. This series is a complete recap of the Virtual Padwork library I built in 2023.
If you are looking for a structured way to learn about online boxing, this series will serves as a reference guide. Instead of hunting through a social media feed, you can find the technical sequences right here, grouped by week, to study in your own time.
Here is the breakdown of the first seven combos from the archive.
Combo 1: The Mayweather Jr
We kicked off the series with a tribute to Floyd. This one is all about sharp, high-volume accuracy. It isn’t about swinging for the fences; it’s about touching the target and staying fluid.

Combo 2: The Jab Motif
The jab is the most important tool in any boxing kit. This "motif" uses the jab as a constant reset point, teaching you to keep that lead hand active while you search for openings.

Combo 3: The Palindrome
This is a bit of a mental test for your training. Like the word "racecar," it reads the same forwards and backwards. It’s excellent for balance because you have to throw the exact same weight into the return punches as you did the entry.
The Sequence:

Combo 4: The Mirror
Similar to the palindrome but with a different rhythm. This recap is designed to help you feel comfortable throwing from both sides of the body in a symmetrical, mirrored way.

Combo 5: The 123 Loop
The 1-2-3 (Jab-Cross-Hook) is the foundation of boxing. By looping the sequence, you are working on shoulder endurance and the speed of your rotation—essential for any level of fighter.

Combo 6: The Canelo
This is a longer sequence focusing on head movement and weight transfer. It mimics how Canelo Alvarez builds pressure by slipping, rolling, and then letting off heavy, repetitive hooks and uppercuts. It’s a great one for a more intense shadowboxing round.

Inspired by the legendary Archie Moore, this focuses on "Head Control." In boxing, using your hand to manipulate an opponent's guard is a bit of a lost art. This drill helps you create openings for the follow-up cross and hook.
