Combos Of The Week: Week 10 Virtual Padwork Online Boxing Series

Welcome to the tenth instalment of Combos Of The Week. This series is a complete recap of the Virtual Padwork library I built in 2023.

If you are looking for a structured way to learn about online boxing, this series will serve as a reference guide. Instead of hunting through a social media feed, you can find the technical sequences right here, grouped by week, to study in your own time.

Here is the breakdown of combos 64 to 70 from the archive.

Combo 64: The Marciano

Stance: Orthodox

Inspired by Rocky Marciano’s awkward but devastating power. This drill uses a low jab feint to pull the opponent's guard down, followed by a looping right hook and a deep crouch to load up a massive lead-side counter.

Combo Sequence:

  • Feint Low Jab

  • Right Hook

  • Crouch

  • Left Hook

Combo 65: The 132 Loop

Stance: Southpaw

The Southpaw version of the classic 1-3-2. For the lefty, this involves the Jab, Lead Hook, and Cross. Looping this builds the specific muscle memory needed to turn the lead shoulder over for the hook before snapping the cross back down the pipe.

Combo 67: 1 2 Pull 2

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Cross

  • Lean Back

  • Cross

Combo 68: 5632

Stance: Orthodox

An explosive inside combination. By starting with the double uppercuts (the 5 and 6), you split the opponent's guard or lift their chin, creating the opening for the lead hook and the finishing cross.

Combo Sequence:

  • Left Uppercut

  • Right Uppercut

  • Left Hook

  • Cross

Combo 69: The Left Uppercut Motif

Stance: Southpaw

Focusing on the power-side (rear) uppercut for the Southpaw. This drill ensures that no matter what punch you throw, you can always find the angle to fire a sharp left uppercut underneath the opponent's defence.
