Combos Of The Week: Week 13 Virtual Padwork Online Boxing Series

Welcome to the thirteenth instalment of Combos Of The Week. This series is a complete recap of the Virtual Padwork library I built in 2023.

If you are looking for a structured way to learn about online boxing, this series will serve as a reference guide. Instead of hunting through a social media feed, you can find the technical sequences right here, grouped by week, to study in your own time.

Combo 85: Slip 5252

Stance: Southpaw

A classic counter-punching rhythm for the southpaw stance. After slipping to the right (outside the opponent's jab), you return with a rhythmic lead uppercut and cross combination. This drill focuses on maintaining balance while firing multiple power shots from an angled position.

Combo Sequence:

  • Slip Right

  • Right Uppercut

  • Cross

  • Right Uppercut

  • Cross

Combo 86: Elbow Elbow 5632

Stance: Orthodox

This sequence reinforces inside-fighting defense. By using double elbow tucks to catch body shots, you stay compact and ready to explode. The transition from the guard into a four-punch flurry (Uppercuts, Hook, Cross) teaches you to turn defence into immediate offense.

Combo Sequence:

  • Right Elbow Tuck

  • Left Elbow Tuck

  • Left Uppercut

  • Right Uppercut

  • Left Hook

  • Cross

Combo 87: The Hamed

Stance: Southpaw

Inspired by "Prince" Naseem Hamed’s unorthodox flair. This drill focuses on deceptive movement and agility. The use of the "look" before a sequence of slips and rolls builds the timing needed to find explosive power from unpredictable angles.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Look

  • Slip Right

  • Slip Left

  • Roll Right

  • Right Uppercut

  • Left Hook

Combo 88: The Micky

Stance: Orthodox

Inspired by the relentless body-snatching style of Micky Ward. This combo uses the jab and uppercut to draw the opponent's guard up, followed by a clinical double-hook to the head and body. The "looks" integrated into the sequence emphasize the importance of observing the opponent's reaction.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Jab

  • Right Uppercut

  • Look

  • Left Hook

  • Low Left Hook

  • Look

  • Jab

  • Right Hook

Combo 89: 1 2 Slip 2 Roll

Stance: Southpaw

A fundamental movement drill for southpaws. You fire the 1-2, slip the return shot to the left, reset the cross, and immediately roll to safety. It is a perfect drill for developing the "hit and don't get hit" philosophy.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Cross

  • Slip Left

  • Cross

  • Roll Left

Combo 90: 1 2 Slip 2 Slip 2

Stance: Orthodox

This sequence builds endurance in the pocket. By layering slips between straight crosses, you train your core to remain active under pressure. It’s about being able to fire, avoid the counter, and fire again without resetting your feet.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Cross

  • Slip Right

  • Cross

  • Slip Right

  • Cross

Combo 91: 1 2(Step) 3

Stance: Southpaw

A specialized footwork drill. On the cross, you take a lateral step with the front foot to the right. This creates a dominant angle outside the opponent's lead foot, while throwing a cross, putting you in the perfect position to land a powerful lead hook around their guard.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Cross (Front Foot Step Right)

  • Right Hook

Closing Thoughts

This project began as a 365-day commitment to creating a free, dependable resource for boxing enthusiasts worldwide. By stripping away spoken instruction and focusing on the raw mechanics of the combinations, these sequences are designed to be a universal language. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced boxer, these archives stand as a testament to the discipline of the craft—a library of inspiration that remains accessible to anyone with a passion for boxing.
