Combos Of The Week: Week 16 Virtual Padwork Online Boxing Series

Welcome to the sixteenth instalment of Combos Of The Week. This series is a complete recap of the Virtual Padwork library I built in 2023.

If you are looking for a structured way to learn about online boxing, this series will serve as a reference guide. Instead of hunting through a social media feed, you can find the technical sequences right here, grouped by week, to study in your own time.

Combo 106: 1 Low1 232

Stance: Orthodox

A fundamental level-changing drill. By following a head jab with a low jab to the solar plexus, you force the opponent to drop their hands, creating a clear opening for the high-impact Cross-Hook-Cross that follows.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Low Jab

  • Cross

  • Left Hook

  • Cross

Combo 107: 12 Slip Slip Roll Roll 52 Step

Stance: Southpaw

This is a comprehensive movement drill. After a standard 1-2, you cycle through four distinct defensive maneuvers (slips and rolls) before countering with a lead uppercut and cross. The final step back ensures you finish the sequence at a safe distance.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Cross

  • Slip Left

  • Slip Right

  • Roll Left

  • Roll Right

  • Right Uppercut

  • Cross

  • Step Back

Combo 108: 123 Roll Low3 32 Roll 232

Stance: Orthodox

A high-intensity sequence that focuses on "rolling into the hook." By doubling the lead hook (low then high) after a roll, you practice relentless pressure. The combo resets with another roll to the right before finishing with a powerful 2-3-2.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Cross

  • Left Hook

  • Roll Left

  • Low Left Hook

  • Left Hook

  • Cross

  • Roll Right

  • Cross

Combo 109: 12 Slip Slip 52 Roll Roll

Stance: Southpaw

This drill prioritizes the flow between offense and defense. This variation integrates the defense after the counter-punch, training you to roll away from danger immediately after landing your power shots.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Cross

  • Slip Left

  • Slip Right

  • Right Uppercut

  • Cross

  • Roll Left

  • Roll Right

Combo 110: 1 Slip Roll 63 Slip 3

Stance: Orthodox

This drill works on a specific defensive "evasive" rhythm. You slip and roll to get into a dominant position for the right uppercut and hook, then slip the counter to land a final, sharp lead hook.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Slip Left

  • Roll Right

  • Right Uppercut

  • Left Hook

  • Slip Left

  • Left Hook

Combo 111: 1 S Low3 F232

Stance: Southpaw

This sequence teaches the southpaw to find an angle for a body shot. After slipping to the outside (right) for a low hook, you use a step back and reset the distance for a clean 2-3-2 counter-attack.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Slip Right

  • Low Right Hook

  • Step Back

  • Cross

  • Right Hook

  • Cross

Combo 112: 16 Step 23 Roll 3232

Stance: Orthodox

A rhythm-heavy combination that uses a step back to reset the timing after a lead-hand exchange. It emphasizes the "roll into the counter," concluding with a high-volume four-punch flurry to keep the opponent on the defensive.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Right Uppercut

  • Step Back

  • Cross

  • Left Hook

  • Roll Left

  • Left Hook

  • Cross

  • Left Hook

  • Cross
