Combos Of The Week: Week 30 Virtual Padwork Online Boxing Series

Welcome to the thirtieth instalment of Combos Of The Week. This series is a complete recap of the Virtual Padwork library I built in 2023.

If you are looking for a structured way to learn about online boxing, this series will serve as a reference guide. Instead of hunting through a social media feed, you can find the technical sequences right here, grouped by week, to study in your own time.

Combo 204: Slip Roll Roll 62

Stance: Orthodox

This drill focuses on intensive head movement to find an opening for rear-hand power. By slipping and rolling twice, you simulate evading a three-punch flurry before returning with a sharp rear uppercut and cross.

Combo Sequence:

  • Slip Right

  • Roll Left

  • Roll Right

  • Right Uppercut

  • Cross

Combo 205: Step Duck 63

Stance: Southpaw

A classic "draw and counter" for the southpaw. You take a step back to lure the opponent into a long straight shot, duck underneath it to load your hips, and explode upward with a rear uppercut and lead hook.

Combo Sequence:

  • Step Back

  • Duck

  • Left Uppercut

  • Right Hook

Combo 206: Block Hook Body Loop

Stance: Orthodox

This loop builds the habit of "digging" to the body after defending the rear side. By catching a shot on the right block and returning a double hook (head-to-body), you train the lead hand to work effectively in high-pressure exchanges.

Combo Sequence:

  • Right Block

  • Left Hook

  • Low Left Hook

  • (Repeat Loop 3x)

Combo 207: Catch Catch Duck Hook

Stance: Southpaw

A defensive reset designed to neutralize the 1-2. After catching the straight punches, you duck to avoid a follow-up hook, emerging from the crouch with a powerful lead hook of your own.

Combo Sequence:

  • Left Catch

  • Right Catch

  • Duck

  • Right Hook

Combo 208: The Dempsey

Stance: Orthodox

Inspired by Jack Dempsey. This sequence focuses on heavy, low-line attacks that shift the weight from side to side, eventually rising to the head with a final lead hook.

Combo Sequence:

  • Low Cross

  • Low Left Hook

  • Low Cross

  • Left Hook

Combo 209: Jab Body 32 Slip Slip Roll

Stance: Southpaw

A high-level southpaw flow. It integrates a low lead hook into the initial attack to drop the opponent's guard. The sequence concludes with a rigorous defensive cycle (Slip-Slip-Roll) to ensure a safe exit from the pocket.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Low Left Hook (Roll)

  • Right Hook

  • Cross

  • Slip Left

  • Slip Right

  • Roll Left

Combo 210: The Frazier

Stance: Orthodox

Inspired by "Smokin" Joe Frazier’s bob-and-weave style. This drill emphasizes the use of rhythmic head movement as a feint. You use the slips and ducks to freeze the opponent before unloading a signature, heavy lead hook.

Combo Sequence:

  • Slip Left/Right (Feint)

  • Duck

  • Duck (Feint)

  • Left Hook

Closing Thoughts

This project began as a 365-day commitment to creating a free, dependable resource for boxing enthusiasts worldwide. By stripping away spoken instruction and focusing on the raw mechanics of the combinations, these sequences are designed to be a universal language. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced boxer, these archives stand as a testament to the discipline of the craft—a library of inspiration that remains accessible to anyone with a passion for boxing.
