Combo 134: The Canto

Stance: Orthodox

Inspired by Miguel Canto’s mastery of distance. This sequence uses a repetitive entry of a low right hook followed by a lead hook, punctuated by step backs to reset the range. It concludes with a tight "Cover" to absorb pressure before countering with an inside uppercut and hook.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Low Right Hook

  • Left Hook

  • Step Back

  • Jab

  • Low Right Hook

  • Left Hook

  • Step Back

  • Cover

  • Right Uppercut

  • Left Hook

Combo 135: 12 Roll 21 Pull

Stance: Southpaw

This drill emphasizes defensive movement between straight shots. For the southpaw, rolling left after the 1-2 prepares the power for the return cross. The sequence ends with a "Pull" (lean back) to safely exit the exchange.

Combo 136: 12 Roll 23 Slip Slip 2

Stance: Orthodox

An orthodox variation of the defensive-reset drill. After the initial roll and counter-hook, you work through two slips to evade incoming straight shots, creating the perfect opening for a final straight cross down the middle.

  • Roll Right

Combo 137: 5 Slip Roll 6 Slip Roll

Stance: Southpaw

A sophisticated movement drill for lefties. This sequence links lead and rear uppercuts with their corresponding slips and rolls. It is designed to build fluid head movement while staying in range to fire short-range power shots.

  • Right Uppercut

  • Slip Right

  • Roll Left

  • Left Uppercut

  • Slip Left

  • Roll Right

Combo 138: The Cotto

Stance: Orthodox

Inspired by Miguel Cotto’s disciplined pressure. You sit behind a high guard and a stiff jab, using a low feint to draw the opponent's hands down before firing a crisp, straight cross over the top.

Combo Sequence:

  • High Guard

  • Jab

  • Low Feint

  • Cross

Combo 139: The 123112 Loop

Stance: Southpaw

A high-volume rhythm drill. By looping the Jab-Cross-Hook and following it with a Double Jab-Cross, you build the endurance to sustain an attack. This "looping" methodology is essential for developing effortless transition between punches.

Combo 140: The Claressa

Stance: Orthodox

Inspired by Claressa "GWOAT" Shields' ability to counter and control range. This is a sharp "Slip and Cross" executed simultaneously to catch an opponent's jab, followed by a lead hook and a defensive step back to reset the tactical position.

  • Slip and Cross

  • Step Back
