Combos Of The Week: Week 21 Virtual Padwork Online Boxing Series

Welcome to the twenty-first instalment of Combos Of The Week. This series is a complete recap of the Virtual Padwork library I built in 2023.

If you are looking for a structured way to learn about online boxing, this series will serve as a reference guide. Instead of hunting through a social media feed, you can find the technical sequences right here, grouped by week, to study in your own time.

Combo 141: 12 3 Roll 3 Roll 32

Stance: Southpaw

This drill emphasizes "doubling down" on the lead hook while moving the head. For the southpaw, rolling to the right (outside) between hooks builds the leg strength and coordination needed to stay offensive while evading the opponent's rear-hand counters.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Cross

  • Right Hook

  • Roll Right

  • Right Hook

  • Roll Right

  • Right Hook

  • Cross

Combo 142: The Patterson

Stance: Orthodox

Inspired by Floyd Patterson’s "Peek-a-Boo" influenced style. This sequence uses a double jab to find the range, followed by rapid slips to get into position for a heavy, repetitive right hook attack aimed at breaking through a high guard.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Jab

  • Slip Right

  • Slip Left

  • Jab

  • Right Hook

  • Right Hook

Combo 143: 125 Slip 52 Slip 6

Stance: Southpaw

A sophisticated counter-punching drill. It integrates the lead uppercut (the 5) after a 1-2, using slips to reset the power for both the lead and rear uppercuts. It’s a great drill for mastering the rhythm of fighting "up the middle."

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Cross

  • Right Uppercut

  • Slip Right

  • Right Uppercut

  • Cross

  • Slip Left

  • Left Uppercut

Combo 144: 1 Step Step 632 Slip 2

Stance: Orthodox

This combo focuses on drawing the opponent in. You fire a jab and take two steps back to create a false sense of security, before exploding forward with a 6-3-2 (Rear Uppercut, Lead Hook, Cross) and slipping the return.

Combo Sequence:

  • Jab

  • Step Back

  • Step Back

  • Right Uppercut

  • Left Hook

  • Cross

  • Slip Right

  • Cross

Combo 145: Block 3 Catch 2 Jab

Stance: Southpaw

A clinical defensive drill. You block the lead hook and return fire with your own, then catch a straight shot and immediately counter with a cross-jab. It reinforces the habit of having a defensive "answer" for every incoming strike.

Combo Sequence:

  • Right Block

  • Right Hook

  • Left Catch

  • Cross

  • Jab

Combo 146: The Joshua

Stance: Orthodox

Inspired by Anthony Joshua’s calculated power. This drill targets the body early with a low jab and hook to bring the guard down. You then use the lead hand for "Head Control" to hold the target in place for a devastating rear uppercut.

Combo Sequence:

  • Low Jab

  • Low Right Hook

  • Left Hook (Head Control)

  • Right Uppercut

Combo 147: Block 3 Slip 32 Roll

Stance: Southpaw

This sequence focuses on staying active in the pocket. After blocking and countering with a hook, you slip to create a fresh angle for a hook-cross, finishing with a roll to the left to exit safely and avoid the counter-hook.

Combo Sequence:

  • Right Block

  • Right Hook

  • Slip Right

  • Right Hook

  • Cross

  • Roll Left

Closing Thoughts

This project began as a 365-day commitment to creating a free, dependable resource for boxing enthusiasts worldwide. By stripping away spoken instruction and focusing on the raw mechanics of the combinations, these sequences are designed to be a universal language. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced boxer, these archives stand as a testament to the discipline of the craft—a library of inspiration that remains accessible to anyone with a passion for boxing.
